Buying Property: Working with Tradesmen and Agents

Welcome to my blog. My name is Darren. I own several rental properties in Western Australia. Once I had made the purchases, I discovered that several of the properties needed extensive work before I could rent them to tenants, so I had to hire construction contractors, plumbers, electricians, waste disposal experts and roofing experts to make sure the homes were in top condition. Once I had repaired the buildings, I contacted a letting agent who put them on the market for me. I learnt a lot from working with some many different businesses so I decided to start this blog to share everything I know.

3 Considerations to Make Before Purchasing a Ute Crane

by Louella Brewer

A ute is a term used to describe any sort of utility vehicles such as trucks, pickups or rigs. A ute crane is typically a crane mounted on a utility vehicle. People have different reasons for purchasing and installing ute cranes on their vehicles, such as tow truck services and heavy haulage businesses.  There are various types of ute cranes to pick from and thus a buyer should make a number of considerations before making the purchase. Below are some of the factors such an individual should ponder so as to make an informed decision as well as buy a crane that can efficiently handle its intended purpose.

Crane arm length and load capacity

When buying a ute crane, the first consideration should be the load bearing capacity of the crane you require as well as it reach while bearing a load. Thus when selecting a suitable crane, it should be tall and strong enough for its intended purpose as well as manoeuvrable to facilitate easy loading onto the vehicles tray. It is essential for the individual looking to buy a crane to first determine the exact specifications, in terms of arm reach and strength, they are looking for in a ute crane before making any further considerations.

Chassis and vehicle size

Once the size and specifications of the ute crane get determined, then it's time to check if the crane will match with the vehicle on which it will get mounted. The chassis of the vehicle should be strong and durable enough to withstand the weight of the crane as well as maintaining the stability of the vehicle while lifting a load.

Another consideration is the weight of the vehicle with regards to its chassis and body. The vehicle's chassis should be substantially strong and heavy to safely maintain its stability and balance. However, the weight should not exceed the vehicles weight class even if modifications get applied to strengthen the chassis. The chassis should get meticulously configured to balance the profile height, size, and overall truck weight to facilitate a stable housing for the ute crane.

Control mechanisms

Due to the technological advances in crane designs and manufacturing, manually controlled ute cranes are getting replace by modern wireless and radio remote controlled cranes. Remote controlled ute cranes are more expensive than manually controlled cranes, but they are commonly preferred because they are much safer to use since operators can control them from a safe distance via remote.
